Egg Retieval Day is here.

28 eggs retrieved!

We woke up bright and early at 5:30 to be in Highland Park ( about 45 minutes from downtown) by 7:15 am. We ended up getting there early, at 6:50, and they took us in right away. We were the first appointment of the day and I felt relieved to not have to wait.

I was brought in to a little room right away, changed, and within about 20 minutes they were hooking my up to an IV. Dr. Kaplan came in and said Hi. The nurse went over all of the procedures and post-op instructions with us.

We just hung out for a little bit, and felt very positive about our experience.

It turns out that 28 eggs were retrieved! We were shocked. All 28 had eggs in them.

Once I got home I was definitely sore and groggy, it was hard to stand up all of the way. I took a couple of naps, but it really wasn't too bad.

I was instructed to eat salty foods and lots of electrolytes or coconut water.
We will know how many are fertilized tomorrow.
